The Oscar and Maria Salzer Collection of European and American Painting

The Salzer collection consists of more than sixty trompe-l'oeil (French for "fool the eye") and still-life paintings from the sixteenth to the twentieth century.

In addition to the Salzer paintings is a group of 36 large botanical watercolors by painter-illustrator Abigail Lyman. The collection also includes a large selection of nineteenth and twentieth century California landscape paintings, a gift from Dr. and Mrs. John D. Relfe. The landscape painters include artists such as David Cox, Maynard Dixon, Hugo Anton Fisher, Thomas Hill and Chris Jorgenson.
