Chihuly at the deYoung - Docent Council Coach Trip

The Fresno Metropolitan Museum Docent Council invites you to join them on a trip to San Francisco to view Chihuly at the de Young Museum on Saturday, August 16, 2008.

Dale Chihuly is the most famous glass artist living today and the subject of many popular exhibitions. Eleven of the de Young’s galleries will feature new and archival works representing the breadth and scope of the artist’s creative vision over the last four decades.

Chihuly at the de Young is Dale Chihuly’s first major exhibition in San Francisco and represents all the creative periods of the artist’s career, from drawings to single vessels to architectural installations. His work is included in over two hundred museum collections worldwide and he has been the recipient of many awards, including eight honorary doctorates and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.

SCHEDULE
7:00 a.m. Load motorcoach at St. Anthony’s Church parking lot on the southeast corner of Bullard and Maroa Avenues. Park on the east side of the lot.

7:15 a.m. Depart Fresno

11:00 a.m. Arrive at the de Young Museum. Audio tours of Chihuly at the de Young will be provided for you so that you can enjoy the exhibition at your leisure. Lunch will be available in the Museum Café.

3:30 p.m. Load bus and depart from the de Young Museum.

7:00 p.m. Approximate arrival time in Fresno.
